High Quality Audio
The analog signal from the player passes through the shortest signal route, first digitized at 24bit/96kHz through a pro A/D converter where it reaches the digital mixing stage with the best sound possible. The mixing is carried out by 32bit DSP with minimal deterioration of sound quality. A highly rigid chassis minimizes unnecessary vibration, which could adversely affect sound quality. The mixer also incorporates a dual-shield structure for eliminating entry of digital noise and a high performance power supply for noise-free power.
Sound Color Effects For A New Style of DJ Mixing
The world?s first DJ mixer with Auto Harmonic Tuning detects the key of song and automatically corrects to the closest true key. In music theory terms, when a DJ raises the pitch of a song in the key of C by three percent, the song is no longer in the key of C, but somewhere between C and C sharp. This makes it impossible to perform a perfect harmonic mix.
Pioneer?s new Harmonic Tuning feature takes the key of the source audio and adjusts the pitch until it is that of a standard note. Of course still has to know some basics about music, such as which keys match, in order to pull off an acoustically perfect harmonic mix.
World class DJs currently spend thousands of hours learning the keys of their music and re-mastering their library to be in ?perfect pitch?. Now the DJM-800 makes it easier to perform a ?Harmonic Mix?.
The DJM-800 incorporates a highpass / lowpass filter, notch filter and bit crusher effect for all channels. In conjunction with the additional Beat Effects, 50 combinations of effects are possible.
Higher quality effects at 24bits make for a cleaner sounding remix. The effects automatically detect the BPM of the music and sync to the beats.
The DJM-800 includes some familiar effects, plus some new ones: Echo, Delay, Reverse Delay, Pan, Transform, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Reverb, Robot, Chorus, Roll and Reverse Roll.
Digital Input/Output terminals
Digital inputs and outputs allow for connection with other digital-capable equipment for a fully digital chain, without degradation of sound quality.
The DJM-800 is not only ideal for the club professional but also great in a recording studio environment where high fidelity sound is required. Input frequencies of 44.1/48/96kHz are compatible; output frequency is selectable between 48/96kHz.
Fully Assignable MIDI function
There are a total of 61 assignable controls. The MIDI signal can be sent from almost all knobs and switches on the surface of the DJM-800 to external MIDI equipment. Since the mixer can send out many MIDI signals, it can be used as a flexible interface to music software or hardware such as Ableton Live or EDIROL V-4 Video Mixer.
Rotary Volume Knobs (optional)
The main volume fader knobs can be replaced with rotary volume knobs (DJC-800RV), which are especially valuable for extended mixing providing more subtlety and precision.

Cross Fader Assign allows the DJ to assign each channel?s input to the cross fader.
Fader Curve Adjust allows the user to change the cross fader/channel fader curve.
When connected to a Pioneer CDJ player, the Fader Start allows playback to be started by simply sliding the cross fader or channel fader.
A built-in three-band equalizer enables level control within a ?26dB to +6dB range for high, mid, low bands, respectively.
The Talk Over feature automatically lowers track volume so an MC can talk over the track.
The Mic Signal Cut eliminates the microphone sound output to the booth monitor to prevent feedback.
The DJ can check the peak level of the input audio for each channel and the master.

Hot Cue (sampler)
Memorizes up to 3 cue point?s per CD. These points can then be recalled by hitting either of the A, B or C buttons. This function can also be used like a mini sampler for vocals, stabs, or breaks, adding that touch of creativity to any DJ set.
Instant reverse is controlled by using a flickable switch. With no loss of tempo or pitch, it can be used immediately within any track without having to stop or start. Reverse can also be used with the Hot Cue and the Loop Sampler providing endless combinations and effects.
Real Time Seamless Loop
A quick and simple way to set a loop while a track is playing. Once the loop is set, it can then be looped continuously or until the ReLoop / Exit button is pressed. When released, the track continues playing without any pause. The loop can be re-trigged at any time by hitting the ReLoop button
Loop In / Out Adjust
Another world first from Pioneer - is the ability to adjust both the In and Out points of a loop stored in memory. So now fine tuning a loop is both quick and easy. Loop-In adjust is only available on the CDJ-1000.
Hitting the Reloop button instantly takes you back to the beginning of the loop stored in the CDJ-1000?s memory. This can be done either while the loop is playing or at any time while the current track is playing. Clever use of Reloop can create some sample like effects. The same loop is always stored in memory until replaced with a new loop.
MMC - MultiMediaCard
The CDJ-1000 has a memory feature that let?s you store Wave Data as well as Cue and Loop points. The data can be stored on a removable memory card (MMC) or the players internal memory. The removable MMC card can also be used in any CDJ-1000, so once you?ve stored your favorite cue and loop points they?re there for life. The CDJ-1000 also has a feature that allows you to duplicate MMC cards. (Multimedia Card (MMC) is not supplied with the CDJ-1000.)
CD Wave data is always saved on to the MMC when inserted and then appears instantly.
Cue / Loop Memory
Once you set a cue or loop point you can save it to either the internal memory or MMC card by hitting this button.
Gets rid of those Cue or Loop points that you shouldn?t have bothered saving in the first place.

The CDJ-1000 can be set in either Vinyl or CDJ mode. In CDJ mode, the jog dial functions just like a Pioneer CDJ player, but without the touch sensitivity.
Scratch Play / Cue
When the CDJ-1000 is in vinyl mode, the top of the jog dial functions just like a Vinyl Turntable. Pressing down stops the music and allows you to scratch or cue your track by rotating the jog dial in either direction.
Vinyl Speed Adjust Touch/Brake
This allows adjustment in the speed at which the CD slows down until it stops.
Vinyl Speed Adjust Release/Start
This allows adjustment of the speed at which the CD returns to normal playback speed.
Pioneer?s Master Tempo locks the pitch of the track even when you change the speed. You can speed up or slow down the beat without any noticeable difference in how the vocal and instruments sound.
A new 100mm linear high precision slider connected to a 0.02% (at +/- 6%) adjustment indication on the display panel. Giv es the DJ?s that total control and ensures that the tempo adjustment is easy and accurate.
Tempo Control Range
Ranges of +/- 6%, +/-10%, +/-16% and +/-24% can be assigned to the Tempo Control slider to offer a greater range of adjustment than on any of the pr evious Pioneer CDJ?s.
Tempo Control Reset
Resets the tempo to 0% or original tempo of the track regardless of the slider position. The button has been recessed to prevent accidental selection.
Eject Button & CD Lock
The CDJ-1000 does have a guard to prevent you from accidentally pressing it the eject button. The CD is locked until the track is stopped. This can be deactivated as well if you are looking to do quick mixes.
The CDJ-1000 can read CD, CD-R and CD-RW disks.
Loading CD?s without having to open doors or trays makes swapping discs and selecting tracks that much faster. It also helps to keep dirt and any nasty substances out of the CD?s working parts.
This is the fastest way to find the beginning of a track. The sound level can also be changed to suit your style of music (-36db to ?78db). There is also an option to turn it off if you prefer to cue up your CD tracks manually.
Cue points can be set anywhere on the CD using either the Vinyl or CDJ mode. Adjustment is made by using either the jog dial or manual search buttons. The cue point is automatically stored in the internal memory (If MMC is inserted in CDJ-1000, the cue point is automatically stored in the MMC.) until it is overwritten with a new cue point. (Jog resolution for both Vinyl and CDJ modes - 135 frames per revolution / 75 frames = 1 second)
Real Time Cue
A cue point can be set on the fly and stored into the internal memory by just simply hitting the In / Real-time cue button.

Fader Start / Back Cue Start When the CDJ-1000 is used with the DJM-600, DJM-500, DJM-300 or DJM-300S mixer, you can start the music by sliding the cross fader. By sliding the fader back, it will return the CDJ-1000 back to the previously selected cue point.
Built For The Professional DJ
To prevent accidental CD ejection or loss of mains power, the CDJ-1000 has safety guards around the power and eject buttons together with a locking feature.
Connecting two CDJ-1000?s with a standard 3.5mm mini-plug cable allows one unit to be put on standby whilst the other plays. Relay Play automatically starts the second player enabling them to play 'back to back' to give you endless music play.
Legato Link Conversion For High Quality Sound
Equipped with Pioneer?s wide r ange technology? Legato Link Conversion. The CDJ-1000 is capable of reproducing sound frequencies above 20kHz, which are lost during normal CD-format playback. Not only does this give great sound reproduction but sounds closer to the original recording and more analog like vinyl.
Shock-Proof Memory and Anti-Vibration Construction
Sound jumps or skipping is prevented by using a 16 second shock-proof memory for normal CD play (minimum of 10 seconds if scratching and reading wave data at the same time in Vinyl mode).
Oil-dampened floating suspension prevents sound skipping, even when the player is subjected to impact during use or vibrations generated from high volume music and low frequency bass.

Using the MaKey MaKey you can make anything into a key (get it?) just by connecting a few alligator clips. The MaKey MaKey is an invention kit that tricks your computer into thinking that almost anything is a keyboard. This allows you to hook up all kinds of fun things as an input. For example, play Mario with a Play-Doh keyboard, or piano with fruit!
The MaKey MaKey uses high resistance switching to detect when you’ve made a connection even through materials that aren’t very conductive (like leaves, pasta or people). This technique attracts noise on the input, so a moving window averager is used to lowpass the noise. The on-board ATMega32u4 communicates with your computer using the Human Interface Device (HID) protocol which means that it can act like a keyboard or mouse.
There are six inputs on the front of the board, which can be attached to via alligator clipping, soldering to the pads, or any other method you can think of. There are another 12 inputs on the back, 6 for keyboard keys, and 6 for mouse motion, which you can access with jumpers via the female headers. If you wish to use a different set of keys, or otherwise change the behavior of your MaKey MaKey, you can simply reprogram it using the Arduino environment. Oh yeah, we didn’t mention that the MaKey MaKey is an Arduino-compatible controller? That’s right, it runs the Leonardo bootloader so reprogramming is fast and easy.
